I am a huge fan of spreading the word about Rosalind Franklin, a woman cheated out of a Nobel Prize by her untimely death.

That’s why she’s one of my top choices, but I think *fewer* people have heard of Emil Roebling, and she’s pretty damned awesome.

Rosalind Franklin! I’d say she was cheated more by Watson & Crick than by death (although yeah, she was ineligible for the Nobel, being already dead when it was awarded).
I’d be happy with Barbara McClintock, too.
