Random (but not really)

Fall Semester

It’s the first day of classes!

Gridlock everywhere! Woo! Woo!

Which reminds me…

Last Thursday we went to Target because I foolishly thought we’d get one last shopping excursion before things got busy.

Silly me.

It pretty much looked like locusts had descended upon the store.

The highlight was going by two women speaking EXTREMELY LOUDLY. They were pretty much YELLING EVERYTHING THEY SAID, so I could hear most of their conversation–despite the fact that we were moving to another part of the story as quickly as possible. Most of it was along the lines of:

First Woman: “I REALLY MISS NEW JERSEY!
Second Woman: “ME TOO! IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL THERE!
First Woman: “I JUST CAN’T GET COMFORTABLE HERE!

And so on and so forth.

I resisted the urge to walk over and say, “If you miss it so much, then why don’t you go back, because I swear y’all from New Jersey can’t drive for shit.”

Please note, I don’t generally mind the people from New Jersey (with the exception of loud and obnoxious women dissing my home). I mind the fact that cars from New Jersey contain the rudest and most obnoxious drivers in town.

Ugh, I made a very similar mistake going to Target on Saturday, but we really needed supplies after being gone for a week and a half (I actually did some food shopping there, to avoid the grocery store). Very frustrating trip, just because there were way too many people there and it was slow going.

While I was there, though, I found something new–Amy’s Organic frozen Indian food. It was something paneer…the spinach and soft cheese stuff. I want to call it saag paneer because that’s what I used to get at the local restaurant, but this was called something else–different spicing I’d guess, but it was the same stuff. Not as good as food was at Cafe of India, but pretty tasty, and no meat.

I can’t even imagine what Target was like Saturday. I saw something about busses running up to the shopping center on Saturday for students to get in back-to-school shopping.

I’m surprised you were able to buy anything!

I’ve gotten some Amy’s Organic foods–though even if I’d seen the Indian food, it wouldn’t have registered, since I hate curry. :)

But I bet they may have similar things at Giant Eagle. Have to check. Easy is good.

Yeah, the freshman kids still haven’t figured out the whole inconvenience of driving to class. So we’ll still be with those douchebags on the road for another week or so. Because of that, the shuttle to my apartment takes 30-45 minutes per journey to towers from evansdale as opposed to the regular 15.

Well, the University didn’t help it’s case when the PRT broke down at 8AM Monday morning.

And I figure people be off the roads faster than usual this year. Once they’ve spent the money they earned over the summer, they won’t be able to afford to put gas in their cars.
