Festival of Ideas
The first speaker for WVU’s Festival of Ideas has been posted.
Arianna Huffington will speak this Friday at the Mountainlair at 7:30PM. She spoke here several years ago (you’ll have to search, since I wasn’t using blogging software at that point, so didn’t have permalinks) for the same series, and I thoroughly enjoyed her talk. She’s a very dynamic and vivacious speaker, so if you have the chance, you may want to take the time to hear her talk.
And hopefully we’ll have a better idea who else is speaking soon.

Apropos of nothing ;)
Jeri seems to be having trouble with her blog. It looked like the sorts of woes you’d have the best chance of figuring out, out of everyone I can think of. (Possibly Shawn also, now that I think of it.) Unfortunately it’s broken to the point where you can’t leave comments, so I sent her a message at teh ‘e’ in the hopes she won’t feel like she’s being ignored, at least (if she sees it).
Just thought I’d blather about it in public too. ;)

I sent her an e-mail this morning to the e-mail address she comments with–but I’ve got no guarantee she checks that address. I was going to tell her to check her e-mail if I saw her anywhere–but I haven’t seen her commenting today.
So… waiting!

I’ve got an email for her at home, and we are playing a scrabulous game (that I can’t access from work), so I’ll check and make sure she looks for your message.
Now, related to your original post - TED is about to start. Wouldn’t being a fly on the wall at TED be fabulously awesome? It’d be even better to be innovative and clever enough to be invited, but dang, I wouldn’t turn down an opportunity to attend.

Umm… TED?
I’m so confused!

Sorry - I figure if I know about something, other people do too. I’m a dope!
