Flower Pr0n
With lots of rain, the garden is blooming like mad. The most ridiculous plant is Michael’s Stargazer Lily. I don’t particularly like Asiatic lilies–I don’t like they way they’re so top heavy and require support–but Michael really likes them, so I have several.
Michael is 5′ 10″ if that gives you some perspective of how tall this plant has grown.
Here you can see the whole plant, and you might also notice that Michael didn’t get the supports up fast enough, so there is an “S” curve in the lower part of the stem. So theoretically this should be even taller.
Which is nuts.
Wet and wild hydrangea flower.
Astilbe. I still can’t get a really good picture of it. Next house, any porch/deck supports will be a neutral color, so as not to clash with my flowers.
The flowers on the Butterfly bush are so heavy that they’re now horizontal instead of vertical.

I’m not a fan of stargazers because the fragrance is so heavy it makes me sneeze. But they are pretty. Once we get our weeds cleaned up I have some new stuff in bloom that I need to post.
I want to plant a butterfly bush! They are so pretty. I need to find a full sun spot big enough for it. :)

Asiatic lilies in general are like that I think. I’ve specifically requested that my aunt NOT send my grandmother lilies when she sends flowers, because I can’t stand the smell of them.
If Grandmom does get ‘em, the flowers go in her bedroom. Which is okay.
Butterfly bushes are VERY hardy. This one has been moved twice, and the second time it was little better than a dead stick. As you can see, it’s doing very well now. And that’s a primarily morning sun spot, and it’s thriving.
