Jealously John. That’s all it is. Sheer unadulterated jealousy that they’re associated with everything Washington DC.

And that Senator Byrd doesn’t do really cool stuff for *them*. ;)

That’s pretty much the way we real Virginians see the world, with a few exceptions. Assholistan is a moniker brought on by a WVU inferiority complex to the greater schools of Ohio State and Pitt, and as the home of VMI and VA Tech, we real Virginians don’t denigrate that great area, we refer to it as the home of the Acceptable Yankees. And we refer to Michigan as “the state that actually treats their coaches with the respect they deserve”. HA HA HA.

Oh yes, and to those of us from the other side fo the Shenendoah, it’s:

“West By Thank God They’re No Longer Dragging Our Test Scores Down, Where the Men are Men (Except When You’ve Mistaken One of the Women for a Man) and the Sheep Run Scared Virginia”.

For what it is worth, some of my favorite people, places, and things are in Assholistan: Cincy chili, my best and oldest friend B.H., the Browns, Galipolis, The AFC North, Big Red Smokies, the Penguins, Ken Griffey Jr, Kings Island, Several other good friends, Lake Vesuvius, the Toledo Zoo, the Cincinnati Zoo, Downtown Columbus, Athens, and M & M Dairy Bell all rawk.

There’s nothing funny about lumping in Yankees and Red Sox together. There could be bloodshed. If this is not resolved quickly, I shall be forced to move to Assholistan…or Alaska with beer.
