Flip!
So, I had $50 in Amazon Reward Certificates, so I decided to order a Flip.
I’m shocked at how easy it is to used, and pleased with the quality I’ve gotten–just on the first day of playing with it.
Here is a video of Helena and James.
I’m not sure if it’s going to play slowly or not. I was having trouble playing Flickr videos cleanly. We’ll see how it embeds.
Regardless, you can probably see why I had a good time Wednesday night.
And here are some stills captured from the video.
James and Liz
Helena and Logan
I was pretty impressed I have to say.
Now I just have to figure out how to get these videos on a DVD so my grandmother can watch them on her own.

Yay those stills are pretty awesome. And the video seems good too, though I can’t listen to the sound right now so I’m not sure how it came through. Which kind of Flip did you get? Any extras?

I got the Flip Ultra (I think) It’s white, because that was the cheapest.
I think I need to put the videos somewhere other than Flickr, because they play fine on my desktop, but get all choppy when I view then at Flickr or embed them from Flickr.
No extras. I’ve spent an obscene amount of money as it is this summer (Flip, new camera, new printer, new laptop for Michael…)

The Flip camcorders look neat, it’s just hard to tell what the differences are (on other sites there are different model numbers, which doesn’t help me any, heh). I figure if I decide we want one I read more, pick one, and get it and see how it goes.
Let us know how the rest of your testing turns out, it looks like a neat toy. The results so far are impressive.

I’d played with one at Best Buy, and was impressed. It is really really really easy to use.
Shawn Powers has his review up if you’d like to watch his opinion. :)
Also, you can come play with mine if you like.
One advantage of the Ultra is it takes AA batteries, and since I already have lots of rechargeable AA batteries, it’s a better deal (and if you run out of power, you can BUY more batteries. Not so good with rechargeable cameras/etc.)

Those images look great! I’m glad you like it.
