Snow + Favorite Tree
For lack of anything better, here’s my favorite tree, covered in snow, in a picture taken Tuesday morning.

I always love it when snow piles up on the branches like that and everything is in kind of a stark contrast. Can’t wait for that to happen around here.

Lovely picture. And beautiful, and I’m jealous. But I also can’t help singing:
Ice on a birdhouse and snow on the rooftops
Slush on the asphalt and mush in the gutter
Long frosted branches and a few ling’ring leaves
This is a picture of my favorite tree!

For those who may have missed it, here’s the same view six months ago, except I was sitting on the steps, something I won’t be doing again for several months. :)
And don’t be too jealous. It’s mostly melted now–current temps are 36–but we’ll get more.
Or else.
And Eric, I just want you to know I have no response to that. Except to look like MWT. o.O

Do the other trees know that this one pictured is your favorite? Are they comfortable with that? Because, you know, it’s not always nice to play favorites. ;)
Nice picture.

Well there are only two big trees on our property. And I don’t much like the silver maple at all.
The tiny Japanese maple is nice, but it does provide shade AND beauty the way the sugar maple does.
Ahhh!

Were you hijacking the tune from “My Favorite Things,” Eric? If so, bravo! :)
