{"id":11871,"date":"2014-08-16T21:01:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-17T01:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/?p=11871"},"modified":"2014-08-17T09:13:50","modified_gmt":"2014-08-17T13:13:50","slug":"hiking-wv-audra-state-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/archives\/11871","title":{"rendered":"Hiking WV: Audra State Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cooler weather and an influx of horrific traffic to Morgantown got us on the road again, this time to Audra State Park.<\/p>\n<p>The Girst Mill (it&#8217;s earlier use) is long gone, except for a grinding stone, but the Alum Cave trail along the river has multiple paths to wander down to the water, where you can swim and sunbathe in relative isolation if you&#8217;re willing to hike a bit.<\/p>\n<p>I really like Audra. It&#8217;s not a particularly strenuous hike (we went out and back the same way, because I prefer to walk closer to the water) but it&#8217;s very pretty, and has lots of options for going down to the water.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.audrastatepark.com\/\">Audra State Park<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Trail<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.audrastatepark.com\/audramap.pdf\">Alum Cave Trail<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>River<\/strong>: Middle Fork River<br \/>\n<strong>Distance<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/20140816174953-48213-map.html\">2.9 miles<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Ascent<\/strong>: 497 feet<\/p>\n<p>I love the board walk.
