So I ended up reading quite a bit, including several new releases I&#8217;d been saving up for such an occasion. But I also was re-reading some Patricia Briggs, who I always like. (I just realized I forgot to review the latest volume of Fables. That&#8217;ll have to go onto next month.)<\/p>\n<p>The best books of the month were <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/4904\">Blue Lily, Lily Blue<\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/authors\/stiefvater_maggie.php\">Maggie Stiefvater<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/4889\">Downfall<\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/authors\/thurmanr.php\">Rob Thurman<\/a>, both of which were new releases. (I&#8217;m not counting the Miss Marple collection, because I am always going to love Miss Marple.) So even though I haven&#8217;t raved about that series, you might want to look into it, because it really is fascinating. (Just keep in mind that it is often hard to like Erlendur.)<\/p>\n<p>For this month&#8217;s gender break-down, female authors are continuing to trounce male authors, with Arnaldur Indridson the only male author I read in October.<br \/>\nMale\t1<br \/>\nFemale\t9<br \/>\nMale Pseudonym\t1<br \/>\nRight now female authors have a strong lead, 49%:32%. But if add in female authors writing under initials or male pseudonyms, it&#8217;s 58%:32%.<\/p>\n<p>So that&#8217;s October in books.
