{"id":12683,"date":"2016-01-18T19:44:52","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T00:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/?p=12683"},"modified":"2016-01-18T19:50:52","modified_gmt":"2016-01-19T00:50:52","slug":"hiking-wv-twin-falls-state-park-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/archives\/12683","title":{"rendered":"Hiking WV: Twin Falls State Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A handful of WV State Parks are having a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wvstateparks.com\/packages\/packageindex.htm\">$50\/night in January special<\/a>, so we took this opportunity to spend some more time at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twinfallsresort.com\/\">Twin Falls State Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Location: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twinfallsresort.com\/\">Twin Falls State Park<\/a><br \/>\nTrails: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twinfallsresort.com\/TwinFallsStateParkTraileGuide.pdf\">Huckleberry, Cliffside, and Falls Trails<\/a><br \/>\nDistance: 1.5, 3.0, 2.3 miles<br \/>\nElevation: 2155-2449, 2005-2317, 1836-2006 feet<\/p>\n<p>Twin Falls has a Pioneer Farm, which is run as a farm from the 17 and 1800s would have been. The Huckleberry Trail passes alone part of the fence of the Pioneer Farm.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/24357258812\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20160116_Twin_Falls_118\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1623\/24357258812_af141a4753_z.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" alt=\"20160116_Twin_Falls_118\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>We only saw chickens at work when we hiked by.<\/p>\n<p>The Cliffside Trail is very flat and wide until you reach where it branches off to view the cliffs. Then you actually get some real hiking (and elevation, and scrambling)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/24439360696\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20160116_Twin_Falls_125\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1685\/24439360696_78990d0a93_z.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" alt=\"20160116_Twin_Falls_125\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p>Bet the view is lovely on a fall day&#8211;or a clear day. :)<\/p>\n<p>Twin Falls is named for the two falls in the park (Duh).<\/p>\n<p>The Marsh Fork Falls<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/24465567635\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20160117_Twin_Falls_005\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1592\/24465567635_518236bae7_z.jpg?resize=640%2C427&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" alt=\"20160117_Twin_Falls_005\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p>and the Black Fork Falls<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/24383135451\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20160116_Twin_Falls_138\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1584\/24383135451_6338725e40_z.jpg?resize=427%2C640&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" alt=\"20160116_Twin_Falls_138\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p>Both have a scramble to get down to the base, and both were muddy and messy, but it was a very nice view.
