After great debate, we headed to the Seneca Rocks-Spruce Knob area to hike at Seneca Creek Backcountry.<\/p>\n<p>Location: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/recarea\/mnf\/recarea\/?recid=7017\">Seneca Creek Backcountry<\/a><br \/>\nTrail: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/Internet\/FSE_DOCUMENTS\/stelprdb5433335.pdf\">Swallow Rock Trail<\/a><br \/>\nDistance: 4.6 miles<br \/>\nElevation: 3060-4039 feet (1139 ft elevation gain)<br \/>\nAvg Grade: 8.1%<br \/>\nTemperature: 55-58 F<\/p>\n<p>The trails we&#8217;ve hiked at Seneca Creek Backcountry are out and back hikes that start at the bottom of the mountain and go up to the Allegheny Mountain Trail.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the other trail we hiked, there were not photogenic spots, so I took zero pictures. But it was a lovely hike, and one I would recommend.<\/p>\n<p>Even if next time I&#8217;ll pick a trail with vistas for taking pictures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday was a perfect day for a hike.
