It&#8217;s been awhile since we were at the Grandview area, and I&#8217;ve wanted to hike the Glade Creek trail.<\/p>\n<p>On the way, after looking at the maps, I decided we should take the Little Laurel trail up the Grandview proper.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the sandbar area. We saw kayakers and rafters go by but mostly it was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/42616320060\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"2018-09-01_NRG Sandbars\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1852\/42616320060_a062b964b7_z.jpg?resize=640%2C222&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"640\" height=\"222\" alt=\"2018-09-01_NRG Sandbars\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Location: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/neri\/index.htm\">New River Gorge<\/a><br \/>\nTrails: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/neri\/planyourvisit\/grandview-trails.htm\">Little Laurel, Grandview Rim Trails<\/a><br \/>\nDistance: 7.2 miles<br \/>\nElevation: 1305-2596 ft (1466 ft rise)<\/p>\n<p>Little Laurel Trail<br \/>\n2.5 miles<br \/>\n1480-2539 feet<br \/>\nIt took us just over an hour to hike up. <\/p>\n<p>The maps we had said the Little Laurel trail was 2 miles. According to my GPS, from one sign to the other the trail was 2 1\/2 miles and 1000 feet elevation rise. <\/p>\n<p>Start HERE. At the BOTTOM.
