And I love the color changes.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Berkley<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/Huber_Anna-Lee.php\">Anna Lee Huber<\/a> is writing two series that I&#8217;m reading.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Treacherous-Is-the-Night.jpg?resize=199%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" \/><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/This-Side-of-Murder.jpg?resize=200%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Verity Kent<\/strong><br \/>\n<i><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2FG1cmD\">This Side of Murder<\/a><\/i> (2017)<br \/>\n<i><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2QHW3iv\">Treacherous Is the Night<\/a><\/i> (2018) <\/p>\n<p>The setting is post The Great War, and the art has a look that I (for whatever reason) associate with the Roaring 20s.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re interesting, and draw my attention to the woman. Also, as with her other series, the woman is facing away from the viewer, looking out into the world.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Kensington<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/A-Brush-with-Shadows.png?resize=256%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"400\" align=\"right\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lady Darby<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2FK4zrZ\">A Brush with Shadows<\/a><\/em> (2018)<\/p>\n<p>This is obviously set at an earlier time than the other series, and the portrayal of the woman is more realistic than the other series, but the theme of the woman standing alone and looking out away from you is still there. <\/p>\n<p>I like that although the covers are very different, they still have common elements.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Berkley<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/A-Treacherous-Curse.jpg?resize=265%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"400\" align=\"right\" \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2PGX4GH\"><strong><i>A Treacherous Curse<\/i><\/strong><\/a> (2018) <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/raybourn_deanna.php\">Deanna Raybourn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The covers for this series have all been beautiful. I enjoy looking at the different elements.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Berkley<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Lady-Helena-Investigates.jpg?resize=250%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"400\" align=\"right\" \/><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2kTV7JC\">Lady Helena Investigates<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (2018) <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/Steen_Jane.php\">Jane Steen<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is far simpler than the previous covers, but it&#8217;s still very appealing.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Aspidistra Press<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Why-Kill-the-Innocent.jpg?resize=265%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"400\" align=\"right\" \/><strong><i><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2H81PbI\">Why Kill the Innocent<\/a><\/i><\/strong> (2018) <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/harriscs.php\">C.S. Harris<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I actually didn&#8217;t much care for several of the covers in this series, primarily because the model used for Sebastian didn&#8217;t look a thing like Sebastian should have looked like.<\/p>\n<p>This lets you imagine more what the character looks like, which I very much prefer. I really did not like the model facing you&#8211;at least when that model didn&#8217;t look like the main character. But I think in general I prefer the looks of the main character to be left to your imagination.<\/p>\n<p>I also really like the starkness of the cover.
