{"id":17025,"date":"2022-05-08T20:40:07","date_gmt":"2022-05-09T00:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/?p=17025"},"modified":"2022-05-08T20:40:07","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T00:40:07","slug":"the-books-of-april-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/klishis.com\/notreally\/archives\/17025","title":{"rendered":"The Books of April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a strange month.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3OKHwkz\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/homicide-and-halo-halo.jpg?resize=200%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Homicide and Halo-Halo\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a>I mean, the past several years have been weird, but this was personal oddity as opposed to (gestures at everything)<\/p>\n<p>But I read some books. (Of course I did.) Just fewer than I have in awhile. Which isn&#8217;t bad, since I did go hiking every weekend.<\/p>\n<p>And, I even read some new to me books, as well as a book that was published this year.<\/p>\n<p>Because I was having a difficult time, you can see comfort reads there. To be honest, I&#8217;m not sure I can tie together why I love these books so much, but these are the books I&#8217;ve reached for when I just needed to be enveloped in a book.<\/p>\n<p>And if anyone can tell me what <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/19953\"><em>Come Unto These Yellow Sands<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/19937\"><em>Banquet of Lies<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/19925\"><em>Waiting for the Flood<\/em><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/19948\"><em>Grilled Cheese and Goblins: Adventures of a Supernatural Food Inspector<\/em><\/a> all have in common that make me reach for them as comfort reads, I would be delighted for THAT analysis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mystery<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/19953\"><em>Come Unto These Yellow Sands<\/em><\/a> (2011) <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/Lanyon_Josh.php\">Josh Lanyon<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/category\/9-10\">9\/10<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/19950\"><em>Homicide and Halo-Halo<\/em><\/a> (2022) <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/Manansala_Mia.php\">Mia P.
