I&#8217;d say more than half of those were historical mysteries, however, you&#8217;ll want to note that my rereads of both Agatha Christie and Robert B Parker are categorized as historicals.<\/p>\n<p>Why do I consider the Spenser books historicals? Because the world was a very different place in the 70s and 80s, as unrecognizable to today&#8217;s kids as the post WWII stories of Agatha Christie were to me as a kid.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/46G8mmI\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-right\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/the-price-of-lemon-cake.jpg?resize=200%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"The Price of Lemon Cake\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/22484\"><em>The Price of Lemon Cake<\/em><\/a> (2023) by <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/mystery\/Gardener_Ashley.php\">Jennifer Ashley<\/a><\/h5>\n<p><em>Queer, Historical<\/em> novella<\/p>\n<p>This is a short story in which Kat Holloway makes an appearance; it features Bobby, a secondary character in the series.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou\u2019d be astounded how much people see only what they wish to see. I very much appreciate that although Kira and Sebastian are both happy in their marriage, it is clear that things aren&#8217;t always simple or easy, even in a happy marriage. Then, to Evelyn, \u201cDarling! Truly. They are fun romps that don&#8217;t hesitate to go right over the top but aren&#8217;t ridiculous.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWould you like the detailed answer, or the simple answer?\u201d asks Ibrahim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe simple answer, please, Ibrahim,\u201d says Elizabeth, without hesitation.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim pauses.
