They allow me to get out of my own way when I need to get things done but my brain won&#8217;t shut up.<\/p>\n<h4>The Mortal Follies by <a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/romance\/Hall_Alexis.php\">Alexis Hall<\/a> narrated by Nneka Okoye<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Mortal-Follies.webp?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Mortal-Follies.webp?resize=200%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Mortal Follies\" width=\"200\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/klishis.com\/reading\/archives\/24407\"><em>Confounding Oaths<\/em><\/a> (2024) (#2) 9.5\/10<\/p>\n<p>I thoroughly enjoyed reading the books, but Nneka Okoye&#8217;s narration is perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Almost as good as Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, which is high praise coming from me.<\/p>\n<p>Random House Audio<\/p>\n<p><em>Fantasy, Romance, Alternate History, Queer<\/em><\/p>\n<h4><a narrated by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/The-Masquerades-of-Spring.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/notreally\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/The-Masquerades-of-Spring.jpg?resize=200%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"The Masquerades of Spring\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" class=\"img-right\" \/><\/a>(Rivers of London) 8.5\/10<\/p>\n<p>Kobna Holdbrook Smith&#8217;s American accents have gotten better, but some of them felt a bit off here, however, he was being required to do multiple historic accents from places all over the US.<\/p>\n<p>That aside, listening to this was just as lovely as reading it.<\/p>\n<p>Random House where animals were the main characters, I started the first book and we went through the whole series excluding the most recent book.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mystery, Fantasy, Cozy, Queer<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman<\/h4>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" halfway through, so it was a tiny bit confusing when I was listening to the books one after the other, but I adjusted relatively quickly.<\/p>\n<p>One of the best things about the audio books is most had interviews with the author at the end, and I liked hearing him talk about the characters.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mystery, Queer<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a
