2026: Glaciers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I said, one of the reasons for this trip was so Jules could see the Glaciers before they melted.<\/p>\n<p>This trip we not only got to go through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/glba\/index.htm\">Glacier Bay<\/a>, but also through <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/College_Fjord\">College Fjord<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things I really loved about this cruise was how the ship naturalist made sure we knew when the most interesting things would be happening.<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/55378953629\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"2026-06-18_Alaska_Glacier_Bay_601\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55378953629_5fcd37866c_c.jpg?resize=800%2C533&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" alt=\"2026-06-18_Alaska_Glacier_Bay_601\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have a fancy zoom lens, and ended up just using my normal lens so I could pay attention to what I was seeing instead of paying attention to my camera, so I don&#8217;t have great close-ups of all the animals we saw.<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/55379170595\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"2026-06-18_Alaska_Glacier_Bay_488\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55379170595_71ba29bdb8_c.jpg?resize=800%2C533&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" sea otters, sea lions, mountain goats, and even a brown bear (Michael and Jules saw the bear, I didn&#8217;t catch it.)<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/55378771451\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"2026-06-18_Alaska_Glacier_Bay_494\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" did get to see the glacier calving.<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/55378953689\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"2026-06-18_Alaska_Glacier_Bay_597\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" glacier.<\/p>\n<p>The following day we went into College Fjord, which is something we hadn&#8217;t done on our trip in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Although still cold, the weather was beautiful.<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/55379174890\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"2026-06-19_Alaska_College_Fjord_735\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\"
