Today we drove to Frederick to visit my other grandmother, who had stopped eating. I was very worried about the trip, because I have a major phobia of nursing homes, and hadn’t set foot in one since my great grandmother broke her hip when I was in elementary school.<\/p>\n
\nI expected to have some difficulty with the situation. What I didn’t expect was to have hysterics before I could even get out of the car.<\/p>\n
It took about fifteen minutes, but I eventually calmed down enough to go into the building, after walking to the door and then walking away about three times.<\/p>\n
I knew things were serious, as she had stopped eating, but it was far worse than I had expected.<\/p>\n
To make a long story short, she died during our visit.<\/p>\n
