I looked out the front door&#8211;nothing. So I slipped on my clogs, grabbed my camera, and went out the kitchen door (where he and Grandmom were coming in).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve never seen so many crows before; when the traffic eased, you hear the raucous noise they made all cawing together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/3017607114\/\" title=\"crows_2 by Random Michelle K, on Flickr\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3138\/3017607114_a863ec287b.jpg?resize=500%2C366\" width=\"500\" height=\"366\" alt=\"crows_2\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/random_michelle\/3017603192\/\" title=\"crows_1 by Random Michelle K, on Flickr\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3170\/3017603192_c1e6e1bde4.jpg?resize=500%2C237\" width=\"500\" height=\"237\" alt=\"crows_1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m reminded of a story in the <a href=\"http:\/\/klishis.com\/Books\/comics\/sandman.php\">Sandman<\/a> series, &#8220;A Parliament of Rooks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Why were so many crows all gathered in one place? They were circling in the sky, and perched in the top of trees, so it doesn&#8217;t seem like anything on the ground was the cause (at least I hope not, considering the sheer number of crows).<\/p>\n<p>And here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.birds.cornell.edu\/crows\/crowinfo.htm\">good page from Cornell about crows<\/a>. It doesn&#8217;t look like crows in this area should be migratory, though I suppose it could be a group coming in for the winter.
