It&#8217;s from one of my favorite books, no longer in publication. Which is really too bad.<\/p>\n<p>I usually substitute peanut butter chips, because Michael loves peanut butter.<\/p>\n<p>She suggests refrigerating this dough before baking, but I can never wait that long, because once I make these cookies I want to eat them NOW!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Double Chocolate Chip Cookies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 cup flour<br \/>\n1\/2 cup dutch process cocoa<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp baking soda<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp baking powder<br \/>\n1\/8 tsp salt<br \/>\n8 tbsp butter, softened<br \/>\n1\/2 cup sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 tsp vanilla<br \/>\n1\/2 cup chopped walnuts<br \/>\n1\/2 cup peanut butter chips<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 F.<\/p>\n<p>Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.<\/p>\n<p>Beat butter and sugars until creamy. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture.<\/p>\n<p>Add flour mixture to butter mixture until just incorporated.
