\u201cWhat have you done with Samuel? Is he all right?\u201d <\/p>\n

Pale ice blue eyes examined me thoughtfully. \u201cSamuel? I\u2019m pretty certain he\u2019d forgotten I could do this: it has been so long since we battled for control. He let me out to play when he chose, and I left it to him.\u201d He was quiet a moment or two, then he said, almost shyly. \u201cYou know when I\u2019m here. You call me Sam.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to roll the window down,\u201d I told him. \u201cThis car doesn\u2019t have automatic windows. I\u2019d have to pull over and go around and lower it manually. Besides, it\u2019s cold outside, and unlike you, I don\u2019t have a fur coat.\u201d <\/p>\n

He lifted his lip in a mock snarl and put his nose down on the dashboard with a thump. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re smearing the windshield,\u201d I told him. <\/p>\n

He looked at me and deliberately ran his nose across his side of the glass.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In addition, Adam’s pack does not want to accept Mercy, and actively works against her. That part is harder, since they are initially able to influence Mercy.<\/p>\n

Luckily, there are multiple light bits, to overcome the darkness.<\/p>\n

He gave a growl that would have done Sam credit, and pushed himself back under again, muttering, \u201cDeine Mutter war ein Cola-Automat!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I think I’ve reach the resignation part of listening to this series. I don’t love the narration, but I am enjoying the story.<\/p>\n
