She&#8217;s sweet and lovely and has a LOT going on. <\/p>\n<p>And that might be part of it. She really has too much going on, too much that needed resolved, and it just felt like Too Much  for everything to suddenly work itself out.<\/p>\n<p>Which is too bad because Miranda has a lot of important issues that made you cheer for her, to want her to succeed. But it just felt like one thing resolving itself after another, and that was in a story she shared with Chase, her HEA.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, it felt like ridiculous elements were added into the story for the sake of levity, and they just fell flat for me.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat do you think the armadillo wants?\u201d Holiday asked Miranda.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And of course there was this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhy didn\u2019t my gifts show up earlier?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe magic in you is not released until you find another \u2026 magic.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He stared at her as if she should figure it out. Then suddenly she knew. \u201cTrue love.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That conversation, BTW, is with the armadillo. <\/p>\n<p>So I&#8217;m sorry to sat that this closing book did not live up to the rest of the series, and I&#8217;m truly sad about that, because now I&#8217;m wondering if perhaps the other books weren&#8217;t as good as I thought they were, but don&#8217;t want to re-read them, in case they aren&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: St. Martin&#8217;s Griffin<br \/>\n<strong>Rating: 5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Midnight Hour (2016) C.
