Sorceress of Darshiva<\/em> (1989) David Eddings<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Garion and company are continuing to move through Mallorea, and trying to avoid Urvon and Zandramas while figuring out where they need to go next.<\/p>\n

They spend time in Melcenea, where they discover not just where Zandramas has been and what she’s been doing, but also where they need to go next.<\/p>\n

And they get to meet back up with Zakath. <\/p>\n

Interestingly, although the story is almost all travel and few exciting events (although the conclusion is exciting) it still has some of my favorite quotes.<\/p>\n

“…The whole countryside’s one huge park. Even the mountains have been landscaped.”<\/p>\n

“That doesn’t seem very practical,” Durnik said disapprovingly.<\/p>\n

“The people who live on the estates spent a great deal of money for them, so I guess they can do what they like with the land.”<\/p>\n

“It still seems wasteful.”<\/p>\n

“Of course it is. That’s what rich people do best–waste things.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And then there’s my all time favorite quote.<\/p>\n

Only an idiot tries to fight a war on two fronts, and only a madman tries to fight one on three.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the next to last book of the series, we learn a lot, and they travel far, and there’s lots of fun dialog, but they’re not necessarily exciting events.<\/p>\n

But that’s perfectly fine with me.
