\"The<\/a>Trixa has avenged her brother, and now she has to live as a human until she regains her powers. <\/p>\n

But now I was human, and had discovered living off diner food. . . . It was less than a block away; what could I do? I packed on five pounds in two weeks. She Who Would Not Be Labeled had become She Who Must Find the Nearest Gym.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Which means she can’t rely upon anything but her wits and her found family to stop what could be the end of the world.<\/p>\n

It’s the little things that push this book from like to love.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d called and texted everyone and anyone I knew in the pa\u00efen world to see if anyone had heard about the demon slaughter. So far I\u2019d gotten nothing but a bemused feeling at the thought of a seven-tailed trickster fox trotting around Japan with a BlackBerry in its jaws.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

My once-conditioned body seemed to be falling to pieces fast. The maintenance on a human body was unbelievable. If you slept wrong, you were crippled for the day. How could a species manage to sleep wrong? How had they survived to swarm the earth?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Though I admit that she seems to recover relatively quickly from the damage Eli does to her.<\/p>\n

Someone had once said that all that was necessary for evil to triumph is for wise men to do nothing. These days wise men did nothing a hundred times faster than they had a few hundred years ago, but they were still as blind and useless as they\u2019d ever been.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But mostly I just love the snark.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd who are you going to pray to, Loki?\u201d I snapped back. I was sorry, but I was getting less sorry all the time. <\/p>\n

\u201cMyself, and you\u2019d better hope I\u2019m not listening.\u201d He slammed the door behind him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And now I have to find something else, but I don’t think I’m up to re-reading the Cal & Niko series right now.<\/p>\n
