Color of You<\/a><\/em> (2017) C.S. Poe<\/a> (A Lancaster Story)<\/p>\n

\"Color<\/a>Bowen Merlin has moved to Lancaster in the middle of the school year to become the band director for the high and middle schools, after the previous teacher was fired.<\/p>\n

On of the first things he does, however, is dump apple cider all over the cutest guy he’s seen in awhile–who has a gorgeous voice.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis voice was just so flippin\u2019 gorgeous,\u201d I said, sighing a little. \u201cI\u2019ve never heard an amber voice. It was smooth and flowed like blues music.\u201d <\/p>\n

This is longer than the other two stories in this series of interrelated tales, but you don’t need to have read Joy<\/em> to enjoy this story.<\/p>\n

Bowen has a best friend (who used to be his roommate) who misses him but is also enjoying hearing about his escapades as the new music teacher.<\/p>\n

Except when they fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet bent,\u201d I answered before hitting the End Call button. It wasn\u2019t nearly as satisfying as slamming a receiver, but c\u2019est la vie.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Oddly, I feel like this story could have been a little better if it was shorter. Not that it was bad, but the other stories are a little tighter and I liked them a tad better.<\/p>\n

But it’s still the happy I needed.<\/p>\n
