But Logan Willis isn&#8217;t old, but is instead Brent&#8217;s age, and wearing a startlingly blue shirt. Logan is nothing like the kind of guy Brent usually likes, but then Brent generally doesn&#8217;t see the same guy more than once.<\/p>\n<p>The POV remains with Brent the entire time, which I think works particularly well for a novella, since it keeps us from knowing precisely what the second character is thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Brent is strong and good looking, and although he has a good job and a best friend who is also his roommate, he doesn&#8217;t really believe he&#8217;s good enough for Logan.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAre you going to see him again?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>I nodded. \u201cI sure hope so.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHoly shit!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know, it\u2019s weird,\u201d I admitted with a smile. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen do I get to meet him?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>I looked at him, horrified. \u201cI don\u2019t want to scare him!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>(H)e grinned. \u201cWell, this guy must be something special. You\u2019ve never cleaned up for anyone before.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I don\u2019t want him to think we live like pigs.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Tim snorted. \u201cBut we do live like pigs.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>I looked at my housemate. \u201cWell, Logan doesn\u2019t. His place is clean and organized and expensive and\u2026 and\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd gay?\u201d he deadpanned. <\/p>\n<p>I rolled my eyes at him. \u201cI just want the place to look nice.\u201d I looked around the living room at the old mismatched furniture, and I amended it with, \u201cWell, I want it to look clean.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Brent and Tim bantering amused me very much, because they are very much best friends, even if they give each other shit all the time.<\/p>\n<p>While Logan on the other hand is small and delicate and spent a lot of time being bullied.<\/p>\n<p>For a novella it does a good job of showing time passing as the two get to know each other better.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a very sweet story, and although there was a fair amount of boinking, there was also a lot of dialog between both Brent and Logan AND Brent and Tim.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher: Blue Heart Press<br \/>\n<strong>Rating: 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Taxes and TARDIS (2012) N.R.
