Kneading You<\/a><\/em> (2016) C.S. Poe (A Lancaster Story)<\/p>\n

\"Kneading<\/a>Christopher Hughes desperately needs a job, and when the position of small town librarian opens up, he leaps at the opportunity.<\/p>\n

But the library is under threat, since a developer wants the land for a cell tower and shopping mall.<\/p>\n

“This library is not cost-effective. It\u2019s really that simple.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s not about making money,\u201d I declared. \u201cIt\u2019s about having a safe and free place for people to come and learn! This town doesn\u2019t even have a bookstore\u2014 you have to drive nearly twenty miles to the closest one, and then you have to buy the book! Libraries are here for those who can\u2019t afford to make that purchase. For kids who need resources for school, or even\u2014 if we were able to purchase a computer or two, we\u2019d have high-speed internet for those who need something better than dial-up. Libraries are crucial!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So: librarian, handyman, and bread baking.<\/p>\n

And sweet. Just what I needed.<\/p>\n
