\"Skinwalker\"<\/a>I had trouble with the last couple Jane Yellowrock books, so I decided to go back to the beginning.<\/p>\n

Also, I wasn’t in the mood to listen to the Night Watch series anymore, and this was one of two of the books I decided to try.<\/p>\n

Jane Yellowrock was found in the mountains as a child–naked and with no language skills and no memory. She is now a vampire hunter–someone who goes after rogue vampires for a bounty. She goes to New Orleans to take a job for the local vampire council: to find a rogue that has been taking down humans and vampires alike.<\/p>\n

Upon being reintroduced to Rick, I was reminded that yes, I really didn’t care for him at the beginning. Or really, even several books into the series.<\/p>\n

Like Rick promised, Troll labeled him trouble, but then offered more. Rick LaFleur was his nephew, a good kid gone bad. Went to Tulane, got a degree, then went to work for a scumbag as muscle for hire.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But I was also some of my favorite minor character, like Troll and even Rinaldo.<\/p>\n

My cousin Rinaldo. He\u2019s okay. Married with five kids. Works third shift and drives a cab to keep \u2019em all fed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And of course Aggie. I’d forgotten how little Jane was able to trust even Aggie at the start of the story.<\/p>\n

So it was a good revisit, and I’m now on the second book.<\/p>\n
