This was getting ridiculous. \u201cDid you tell them I was coming?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Park blinked slowly, like he\u2019d been dragged from deep in thought. \u201cYes, of course,\u201d he said after a long moment. Then, \u201cDon\u2019t be nervous.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not,\u201d Cooper said. Well, I wasn\u2019t until you said that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And then get worse.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Park said. \u201cWe need to get you to the hospital.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo!\u201d Cooper groaned against his own arm. \u201cNo more doctors.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou lost consciousness.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDidn\u2019t. I was just closing my eyes,\u201d he muttered. Park was silent. \u201cI can sense your disapproval from here. Surely that means I\u2019m not concussed.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019d have to be dead not to.\u201d Park sighed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As with the previous book, there are passages that are like punches to the gut.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHaven\u2019t you ever felt bad about something that wasn\u2019t your fault? Or even wrong at all? Of course you have. Why apologize for not being what you think we wanted, otherwise.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat wasn\u2019t\u2014 I wasn\u2019t apologizing for being me.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood. Don\u2019t let them make you. No one should feel like a dirty secret.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Also, notice that&#8217;s a nice parallel to a passage in an earlier book.<\/p>\n<p>Also, if the second book was about Cooper dealing with his past, this one is about Park doing so. And Cooper continuing to be more self-aware.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And though it was never Cooper\u2019s intention to fuel that, he hadn\u2019t exactly helped, either. He\u2019d been all too willing to accept Park as perfect. It had felt nice to believe someone so close to faultless had looked at Cooper\u2019s fault-ridden life and thought, <em>Oh yeah, I want in on that<\/em>. It was validating and had given him the breath and the boost he\u2019d needed to process the last couple of years and heal.
