Jason told the mice in his brain to settle down. They were making him stupid. Bad thing about brain mice\u2014 they didn\u2019t listen well at all.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong? You smell weird. Like you\u2019re nervous.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThanks. You say the nicest things.\u201d Jason took him by the arm and tugged him toward the bed. \u201cProbably too many things to hit me with at once. Being woken up to see you all beat up and tell me some half-crazed vamp has been gnawing at you.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cNow you smell angry.\u201d <\/p>\n

Jason wrapped his arms around Alex to give him a hard squeeze. \u201cI can\u2019t help how I smell. Try not to read too much into confused reactions when someone\u2019s half-asleep.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cAudacity, you should keep your head down. I don\u2019t think wolf cubs are allowed here normally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miw<\/em>. Her answer was little more than a peep as she sank back into the depths of Miriam\u2019s bag.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cOfficer Wolf? Hey, are you okay?\u201d Eva stood beside him, eyeing him warily. <\/p>\n

Say something reassuring. Say something polite. \u201cWhy?\u201d <\/p>\n
