Magrat is left a magic wand and the responsibility of being a fairy godmother.<\/p>\n

Luckily, Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg decide to help her out.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook,\u201d said Magrat desperately, \u201cwhy don\u2019t I go by myself?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019Cos you ain\u2019t experienced at fairy godmothering,\u201d said Granny Weatherwax. <\/p>\n

This was too much even for Magrat\u2019s generous soul. \u201cWell, nor are you,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s true,\u201d Granny conceded. \u201cBut the point is\u2026the point is\u2026the point is we\u2019ve not been experienced for a lot longer than you.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of experience of not having any experience,\u201d said Nanny Ogg happily.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As with all Discworld books, the best bits appear suddenly without warning, and if you aren’t paying attention you’ll miss them.<\/p>\n

The witches flew along a maze of twisty little canyons, all alike.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wisdom is one of the few things that looks bigger the further away it is.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWhat <\/em>did you say?\u201d said Magrat. <\/p>\n

Nanny Ogg put her hand over her eyes. Asking someone to repeat a phrase you\u2019d not only heard very clearly but were also exceedingly angry about was around Defcon II in the lexicon of squabble.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In Genua, someone set out to make dreams come true. <\/p>\n

Remember some of your dreams?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cPut it like this,\u201d said Nanny, trying to be reasonable against all odds. \u201cWhat could we possibly find under there that\u2019s worse than we could imagine?\u201d <\/p>\n

They each took a handle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
