\"Model<\/a>This picks up immediately after the end of the previous book. Ollie is healing, but so is Kade.<\/p>\n

But Kade doesn’t like having to admit that he needs help, and fears that if he needs help, he’ll lose Ollie.<\/p>\n

\u201cOllie needs me.\u201d He was healing from a (thing). He had blackouts, memory loss, and sometimes a complete bipolar change of his emotions. He needed me to be solid so he could heal. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no reason you can\u2019t be there for Ollie while you\u2019re healing. You both need to take it slow,\u201d Jolanda said. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe needs me to be solid. His rock.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you need him to be yours. Why can\u2019t it be an exchange? Don\u2019t you trust him?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWhat do you fear he\u2019ll do if you tell him just how bad off you are right now?\u201d <\/p>\n

Leave me. Oh God, I\u2019d really fall apart<\/em>. I was only holding it together because I went home to him every day, curled up on the chaise with him, cuddled on the couch with him and our cat, Newt. Ollie\u2019s smile, the subtle turn of his head, the way he canted his hips when he leaned against the counter to talk to me\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The last book exposed Kade’s past, this final book gives us Ollie’s past, as her learns that his life was not what he thought.<\/p>\n

I’ll be honest, I finished the book past my bed time, then the next day re-read a bunch of chapters, figuring out what had actually happened and why. <\/p>\n

This book was kinda brutal for me, but not necessarily in a bad way.<\/p>\n

“You know that little questionnaire you get every time you go in? You\u2019re supposed to answer that honestly, not mark what you think you should feel.\u201d <\/p>\n

I had thought it was just me. That it was my place to fix what was wrong with me. That I\u2019d been given help and it was my fault it wasn\u2019t working because I wasn\u2019t trying hard enough.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This was a very good–if very hard–series. It’s been a day and I still can’t quite get it out of my head.<\/p>\n
