That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon<\/a><\/em> (2021) Kimberly Lemming (Mead Mishaps)<\/p>\n

My self-preserving habits made me a bit of an outlier with the other girls in town. \u201cWho wouldn\u2019t want to go off on a grand adventure with a bunch of hot heroes also chosen by the goddess?\u201d <\/p>\n

Me bitches. No, thank you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And also utterly delightful.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is that?\u201d He said with disdain. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is crawfish, and it\u2019s about to be our dinner.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cYou intend to feed me swamp spiders?\u201d He asked, raising a brow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I enjoyed the hell out of this story. Despite all the boinking. (It was skimable–I didn’t feel like I was missing any plot points by doing so, so my thanks for that madame author.)<\/p>\n

Cinnamon, whose family runs the spice farm–has no interest in adventures, and is delighted when she is not chosen to head off on the goddesses’ quest to kill demons.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, she runs into a demon on the way home from the celebration sending off the adventurers, and ends up having to go on an adventure anyway.<\/p>\n

I kept reading bits out to Michael. Such as this, when she becomes the head cook on a pirate ship.<\/p>\n

I chose ten orcs to help man the kitchens. They seemed to take direction well and weren\u2019t covered in fur like the beast-men. They agreed on the condition that they got first pick on choice cuts of meat. Seemed fair to me. Although, it did take me a minute to get used to the sight of them eating raw pig hearts. I would have picked the shoulder as the best cut, but to each their own, I suppose.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It is silly and fun but also logical with wonderful world building. <\/p>\n

And lots of cooking.<\/p>\n

It’s also unabashedly sex-positive, which I appreciate even if I don’t want to read it.<\/p>\n

I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a fun fantasy romp.<\/p>\n
