Because I don&#8217;t much like Milord, and I am unable to understand the relationship between him and Ruben.<\/p>\n<p><em>Squamous with a Chance of Rain<\/em> is Jane&#8217;s back story, and is a cross between <em>The Sound of Music<\/em> and Lovecraft.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I am sure had I been delivered of seven children in such improbable haste I would not be sitting on a swing with my skirts full of rose petals.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>From the Journal of Mrs. Miranda Lovelace<\/em> is a very short story that sets up the rest of the stories.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cloudy Climes and Starless Skies <\/em> is Byron Kae&#8217;s story, and was possibly my favorite of the lot.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It was just . . . oh, I don\u2019t know . . . difficult, in a manner beyond expectation or anticipation, to be suddenly made a stranger to myself. To find a reflection in the glass that spoke of someone else\u2019s wishes, not my own, and to know that this . . . this distorted simulacrum was what the world would see.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Both because Byron Kae is my second favorite character in the series, and because it has bits of Dil (my first favorite character).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As long as we tell their stories, the people we love will never be lost.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Liberty<\/em> is the final story, and ties together all the stories in the anthology. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Again, the recording dissolves to static. The previous transcriber insisted that\u2014 if this section of the cylinder is played back and the listener pays close attention to sounds on the edge of hearing\u2014 ancient and blasphemous voices can be heard in the chaos.
