Except that it is such a comforting read, it was precisely the thing to read to escape the world.<\/p>\n<p>Linus works for DICOMY (Department in Charge Of Magical Youth) and takes his job seriously.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;(S)ometimes, we can\u2019t always control the \u2026 gifts we\u2019re given. And it\u2019s not necessarily the fault of those with said gifts.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>That didn\u2019t seem to make her feel better. \u201cThen whose fault is it?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Linus blinked. \u201cWell, I suppose there are all sorts of factors. Modern research suggests extreme emotional states can trigger instances such as yours. Sadness. Anger. Even happiness. Perhaps you were so happy, you accidentally threw a chair at your friend Marcus?\u201d It was the reason he\u2019d been sent here in the first place. Marcus had been seen in hospital in order to have his tail looked after. It\u2019d been bent at an odd angle, and the hospital had reported it directly to the Department in Charge of Magical Youth as they were required to do. The report triggered an investigation, which was why Linus had been assigned to this particular orphanage. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d Daisy said. \u201cThat\u2019s exactly it. Marcus made me so happy when he stole my colored pencils that I accidentally threw a chair at him.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Because of reputation within DICOMY, Linus is sent to investigate a classified level four orphanage, to check on both the children and the master.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Linus has no idea what to expect, it is still far worse than he imagined.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lucy stomped toward a closed door near the chairs. \u201cI\u2019m not supposed to kill them because only serial killers do that, and if they\u2019re already dead, I can\u2019t play with the remains because I\u2019ll smell bad.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s wrong.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s lead with that next time,\u201d Mr. Parnassus said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s the little things that make the story.
