\"Stiletto\"<\/a>This was what we’ve been listening to on longer drives. However, since we often drive with the windows down when the weather is nice, we didn’t get through it very quickly. Which is fine, because we’ve both listened to it before.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut where did you get my urine?\u201d she asked. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Checquy has samples of everyone\u2019s everything,\u201d said Odgers cheerfully. \u201cRemember, during your time at the Estate, they kept taking specimens of your every fluid and solid?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThat was for scientific research!\u201d exclaimed Felicity. \u201cAnd it was years ago!\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWould someone else\u2019s fresh urine be better?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They all regarded the car thoughtfully. It was not what any of them had expected. Not only was it minuscule, with only two doors, but it appeared to be quite unwell. The black paint was badly scuffed, and one of the doors was white with a cartoon rabbit wearing sunglasses and smoking a cigarette drawn on it in marker. The front bumper seemed to have been tied on with twine, and there were the peeling remnants of old bumper stickers on the back. The uniformed driver who got out looked as if he had been cut-and-pasted into the wrong vehicle. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t mean to sound like a diva here, Ingrid,\u201d said the Rook finally, \u201cbut this is a very small car.\u201d <\/p>\n

Odette thought it was rather charitable of her to comment only on its size rather than its general insalubriousness. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I know I was distracted on the way here, but I\u2019m fairly certain this is not the car I arrived in.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s right, Rook Thomas.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u2026 were we robbed?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cNo, but the deaths at the site have already caught the attention of the press. They\u2019re hanging around outside, so we\u2019ll have to go in the back. I thought a stretch limousine might draw some attention.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI suppose that makes sense,\u201d said Thomas grudgingly. \u201cGood thinking.\u201d She sighed and looked at the diminutive and disreputable vehicle. \u201cWhere did we even get this car? Whose is it?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cPawn Thistlethwaite\u2019s. He said we could borrow it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cPawn Thistlethwaite came in this?\u201d asked the Rook. \u201cThat can\u2019t be right, I know what his salary is. Make a note, Ingrid, we should have him screened for drugs.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s his son\u2019s car,\u201d said the EA. \u201cI gather his is at the mechanic\u2019s.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
