John Garland might not have had everything, like his uncle and his cousin, but he was respectable and had a job he was good at.<\/p>\n

Until it all came crashing down.<\/p>\n

Now he is heading to his uncle’s house in hopes to at least keep another theft from happening.<\/p>\n

As is usual, I particularly liked the banter.<\/p>\n

\u201cChrist. He shot you.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHe shot at me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cYou were six inches from not needing the preposition!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The romance was originally a bit of a struggle for me, because I had a difficult time seeing how John could forgive, but as I got to know the characters it became easier to see how Barnaby had gotten himself in a fix–and how he was unable to get himself out of his fix.<\/p>\n
