There Will Be Phlogiston<\/a><\/em> (2014) Alexis Hall<\/a> (Prosperity)<\/p>\n

\"There<\/a>Anstruther Jones is the Phlogiston Baron.
\nWealth beyond imagine from ignominious beginnings, he wants to be accepted not because he admires society, but because he wants to find companionship.<\/p>\n

Lady Rosamond Wolfram is on the marriage mart because it is expected of her. She will catch a titled husband and do everything expected of her.<\/p>\n

Arcadius is the impoverished last lord Mercury. He knows what he is supposed to do–to marry an heiress to revive his house, but he has no interest in heiresses–or any of the young women on the marriage mart.<\/p>\n

Both Lord Mercury and Lady Rosamond are drawn to Jones, but neither can afford to ignore the whims of society–can they?<\/p>\n

My favorite passage in the book?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure I shall be terribly happy when I am a marchioness.\u201d <\/p>\n
