\"Hottie<\/a>Why reread? Because Scotty is so very sweet and kind.<\/p>\n

He picked up Becks to give nervous, overprotective Bobby a break from watching over her all the time, before taking Bobby\u2019s hand for the walk home.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott didn\u2019t get any more time to think about it, because Becks wanted a snack, and Bobby had seen a lizard by the baseball field today, and both of those things deserved his full attention.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although Kathy of the knitting group is awful.<\/p>\n

Scott listened to them, feeling like he wasn\u2019t supposed to be there anymore, and yet unable to leave.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But Cole dishes her crap back out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m more interested in someone\u2019s excitement over something they have just discovered, than someone\u2019s smug, pompous insistence that there is a right and a wrong way to learn to love something.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Plus, you know, an awesome librarian.<\/p>\n

He wondered if Cole knew that Bobby\u2019s dad wasn\u2019t with them because of his mental health issues from his service in Afghanistan, and that\u2019s why he\u2019d recommended that particular series.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Also, his sister is wonderful too.<\/p>\n

\u201cNope. Cole is paying attention now, Scotty. All you have to do is do something about it. Do it for me. Do it to prove those women wrong. Do it because you wanna marry him and let him feed you cookies all day.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d gain weight, and then he wouldn\u2019t\u2014\u201d Scott closed his mouth with a snap. <\/p>\n

\u201cGonna murder your exes.\u201d Angie softly echoed herself.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But also Cole being lovely and seeing Scotty.<\/p>\n

Cole was careful, but fierce. \u201cWhat number are you? How long would it have taken them to invent a reason to bring me to you?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cMe?\u201d Scott was so astonished he jerked away from Cole\u2019s hand. \u201cCole, they\u2019re looking for someone serious for you.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSerious<\/em>.\u201d Cole had gone icy before, but Scott had never seen him freeze like this. He stopped for a long, tense moment and then stood up straight. He let out a breath, then inhaled to speak. \u201cYou aren\u2019t serious? Of all people, you<\/em> weren\u2019t on their list? And they told you so to your face?\u201d Scott wanted to shrug but this time he didn\u2019t think Cole would let it go if he did. Cole narrowed his eyes anyway, as if he could tell Scott knew more than he was saying. \u201cAnd you believed<\/em> them?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
