I see she has a new mystery coming out! I can preorder it!<\/p>\n<p>DONE!<\/p>\n<p>As with her other books, this was a series of interconnected mysteries.<\/p>\n<p>Entr\u00e9e to Murder<br \/>\nRecipe for Trouble<br \/>\nHomicide and Hospitality<\/p>\n<p>And as she is a professional chef, the main character was a chef.<\/p>\n<p>Which means we get little bits like this.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I pivoted and strode briskly into the walk-in refrigerator all the way to the back. Then I opened the second door to the walk-in freezer. As I closed the door firmly behind me a howl of absolute rage ripped from my chest. It took the form of the word, \u201cMOTHERFUCKER!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>No one really knows how many lives have been saved by the invention of the decompression chamber known as the restaurant walk-in. Probably too many to count.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ah, the walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p>These stories have, of course, murder.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is Andrew,\u201d Evelyn announced, waving her hand back as though I were some stray dog that had followed her home. \u201cHe\u2019s the chef at the murder restaurant.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And romance.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I\u2019d fallen in love with a cop who I was pretty sure was in the closet\u2014 or if he was out, only he knew it, which amounted to the same thing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And two amazing little-old-lady sidekicks.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Design led me to Paris, and there I met Evelyn. And we\u2019re married, aren\u2019t we? For two whole years now.\u201d Julie waved her ring finger under my nose. It sported an impressive rock. \u201cBefore, we\u2019d been living in sin for decades and decades. Now I can finally hold my head up when I\u2019m pushing my little trolley through the supermarket.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou haven\u2019t been to the supermarket for anything but a Vogue magazine in forty years,\u201d Evelyn commented. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of the shame.\u201d Julie put the back of her hand to her head like the heroine in a black-and-white film.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat a perfect place to hold a wedding,\u201d Julie remarked. Then, to Evelyn, \u201cDarling! We should renew our vows.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far as I know they haven\u2019t expired,\u201d was all Evelyn had to say on that subject.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The stories follow the romance beats of her previous books&#8211;main characters falls in love over murder. Second story, main character and love interest define their relationships. Third story, They work things out and you can see the HEA.<\/p>\n<p>The mysteries were good, and I liked that they went unexpected places. I also liked that although Mac was complex, he ended up being so in far different ways that you initially expected.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe can always wait,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe you can, but not me.\u201d I pulled myself together and heaved the door up. \u201cI\u2019m the kind of guy who reads the end of the novel first.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s the point of reading the book then?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo find out how it all went down.
