\"Seventh<\/a>This was written in 1972, and is a product of those times–but not horribly so.<\/p>\n

(T)he long white scar on his forearm was the result of a bayonet cut acquired during the Six Days\u2019 War, and Ted was already respected in academic circles for his research on rock-cut tombs. He was a true sabra, a native-born Israeli; his father, a high-ranking government official and a hero of the 1948 war, lived in Tel Aviv.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And then there was this bit.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s the most glamorous figure in our field.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd glamorous archaeologists are rare,\u201d Jean said drily. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a brilliant scholar\u2014\u201d <\/p>\n
