The off we go.<\/p>\n<p>This reminded me why I&#8217;ve reread his Rebus short story collection several times: Because he is excellent at writing short fiction.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2018You really should clock off,\u2019 Milton advised. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Soon as you get up to go, I\u2019m right there with you.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>\u2018What about your mum?\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Friends and neighbours looking in.\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That is a fair amount of information there in four short sentences.
