And I start to find Susan annoying.<\/p>\n

I get this wasn’t what she thought she was getting into with Spenser, but still, it annoys me.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you ready to be a father?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cNo.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd where does this leave us?\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cSame place we\u2019ve always been.\u201d <\/p>\n

One of the things I’ve noticed is that Spenser spends money when he has it, and doesn’t worry about it too much when he doesn’t have it.<\/p>\n

We had dinner at the Four Seasons, in the pool room, under the high ceiling near a window on the Fifty-third Street side. Paul had pheasant, among other things, and paid very close attention to everything Susan and I did. We had some wine, and the bill came to $182.37. I have bought cars for less.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
