I was more than a minor klutz in my human days, so it was an enjoyable change to walk around without injuring myself.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWell, if it sweetens the pot any, I do own my own accounting agency. Maybe I could be used to help with the books,\u201d I said in desperation. It was a stupid long shot. I was under no illusions that the dracolings would actually find a vampire a more desirable bet because he was an accountant. <\/p>\n

As it turned out, I was dead wrong in that assumption. It was like I\u2019d jolted each of the dracolings with electricity, the way they reacted when I mentioned the word \u201caccounting.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cYou are . . . an accountant?\u201d Morgan asked. <\/p>\n

\u201cUm, yes. I run my own business out of my apartment, and I do pretty good work,\u201d I said. <\/p>\n

\u201cDo you know how difficult it is to find a parahuman that is both capable and willing to balance books?\u201d Morgan asked me again.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
