“Then a hero comes along, or gets called in, every age has heroes lying around somewhere, and he or she kills me.” <\/p>\n

“And then?” <\/p>\n

“I’m dead.” Fafnir blinked at him, taking his hands back when the waitress returned with the curry. <\/p>\n

Again, Hermes waited patiently until she had left them. “I know that, smartass. But you’re not dead now. What happens after you’re dead?” <\/p>\n

“I don’t really know. I’m dead.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Eris used a laser pointer to indicate the first small bar on the screen. “So, Pikuolis, the conflict in the Ukraine doesn’t seem to be turning into a worldwide conflict like you hoped. Very low casualties, overall. Are you withdrawing?” <\/p>\n

The bearded man scowled. “Not yet. There are things to try still.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
