Naked in Death<\/a><\/em> (2005) J.D. Robb<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>It only took a year, but I finally finished Naked in Death<\/em>. I’m not saying it was a bad book, I just couldn’t get into, wasn’t enamored of the characters, and to top it all off, it was a science fiction\/near-future boinking book.<\/p>\n

This is the first Eve Dallas book, where we are supposed to get to know Eve and her paramour Roarke, while Eve attempts to discover who has killed the high-end prostitute granddaughter of a pro-morals Senator.<\/p>\n

Here’s the thing, I liked the mystery. I just had no interest in the relationship between Eve and Roarke. Or in spending much time with Roarke, to be honest. It was very much a case of, “ENOUGH ALREADY! Get back to the mystery!” Yeah, Eve has an ugly past. Yeah, Roarke is a bit of a knave and has his own secret past. Whatever. So yeah, I would have finished the book a whole lot sooner if I’d been able to fast forward through all the boinking bits.
