But now he was realizing he couldn\u2019t do this anymore\u2014couldn\u2019t live, couldn\u2019t work, without medication.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This new complication isn&#8217;t helping his mental state.<\/p>\n<p>But he&#8217;s called out to a case before his official return to work, when I clue with his name is found on a body.<\/p>\n<p>One of my favorite things about this series is the focus on death rituals.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Justice was bitter when it came at the cost of someone\u2019s mother, someone\u2019s lover, someone\u2019s best friend, and rain or shine, Larkin would visit their place of rest after he\u2019d shelved the finished investigation and say their name, because you were only truly dead if there was no one left to mourn you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Unfortunately, that focus is always why it took me to long to get back to this series.
