Mrs. Brodigan put a hand over her heart, looked thoroughly charmed. \u201cHow lovely.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cLovely rubbish,\u201d said Arthur. \u201cDon\u2019t listen to a word. He\u2019s a soft touch, yes, but he also has more children than limbs. This is the cowardly surrender of a zookeeper overrun by the monkeys.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He likes the masquerades in Harlem, have you heard of them? Where the men dress like women and the women like men?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mrs. Brodigan poked her head out of the office and scanned the shop. \u201cWho are you talking to?\u201d <\/p>\n

Rory gestured in front of him, where she\u2019d see nothing but empty space. \u201cZhang\u2019s here. Sort of here. Here his way.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHow lovely! Offer him a cup of tea,\u201d Mrs. Brodigan said, with clearly no understanding of how the astral plane worked.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scars aren\u2019t just on the body. Arthur swallowed and nodded once, any words he might have said sticking in his throat.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
