In summary: Pride goeth before the fall.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty much the same as the first book. Teenage characters. Acting pretty much as you&#8217;d expect teenager heroes to act. <\/p>\n<p>I liked <em>The Crooked House<\/em> even less than <em>Sir Stalwart<\/em>. For one thing, the sole female character is pretty much an afterthought. They bring her along for absolutely no reason that I can determine, and she doesn&#8217;t do anything, other than than ride a horse, and provide someone for Wart to be annoyed at. Oh yeah, plus she gets to be told to run for help. How exciting for her. <\/p>\n<p>I can think of no reason to recommend either <em>Sir Stalwart<\/em> or <em>The Crooked House<\/em> except that they&#8217;re short books.<br \/>\n<strong>Rating: 4\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Crooked House Book Two of the King&#8217;s Daggers (2000) Dave Duncan The further adventures of Sir Stalwart and Sister Emerald.
