\u201cI don\u2019t really do anything,\u201d Soren answered as he hefted the empty coffeepot. \u201cGuess I\u2019ll make fresh since I\u2019m the new guy.\u201d <\/p>\n

He opened the top to remove the filter and every human voice in the squad room yelled out, \u201cNo!\u201d <\/p>\n

Most people would have startled, maybe dropped the carafe. Soren just blinked at the roomful of people gesturing wildly. He took the filter out and emptied it over the trashcan. \u201cWhy not?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t want to do that.\u201d Kyle stayed by his desk, a nice safe distance from the coffee station. \u201cThat\u2019s Larry\u2019s job.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cLarry\u2019s not keeping up then.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
